On the Sunday of the Holy Myrrhbearing Women, May 8, 2022, the parish of the Holy Great-Martyr and Victory-Bearer George in Clearwater, celebrated its Patronal Feast Day – Slava.

In the spirit of Paschal joy, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the parish priest - Economos Milosh Zdralic with the concelebration of Economos Dragan Zaric, parish priest at the St. Sava Church in St. Petersburg. Liturgical responses were rendered by the parish choir under the direction of Mrs. Jovanka Samardzija. Boys from both parishes served at the altar.

The Host - Kum of this year's celebration was Mr. Nenad Cvjetković, Secretary of the Church-School Congregation with his family.

Father Zaric addressed the faithful, congratulating the Feast Day and invoking God's blessing on all. He pointed out that as a neighboring priest, he had the opportunity to see the potential of the parish of St. George many times and expressed his belief that this parish has a bright future ahead of it for many years.

After the prayer behind the ambo, a procession around the church has been made, with the reading of the Resurrectional Gospels and prayers for the city, parish church, our bishop, and faithful people, but also for world peace, seasonable weather, forgiveness of all our sins and repose of founders of this parish church, and all brothers and sisters.

At the end of the procession, the Slava gifts of Wheat – Koljivo, wine, and Festal Bread – Slavski kolach were blessed as numerous children participated. Mr. Slobodan Dane Jovanović, the treasurer of the Church-School Congregation, received a quarter of the Festal Bread and accepted to be the host for next year's Slava.

A festive luncheon has been prepared for all present in the church hall. Teachers and children from the church school prepared an excellent program, while the pre-teen and adult group of the folklore society "Đurđevak" performed a mix of folk dances.

У недељу Мироносица, 8. маја 2022. године, парохија светог великомученика и победоносца Георгија у Клирвотеру, прославила је свој престони празник – храмовну славу.

У духу пасхалне радости, свету Литургију служио је надлежни свештеник – протонамесник Милош Ждралић, уз саслужење протонамесника Драган Жарића, пароха при цркви светог Саве у Сент Питерзбургу. Одговарао је храмовни хор под вођством госпође Јованке Самарџије, а у олтару су прислуживали дечаци из обе парохије.

Кум – домаћин овогодишње славе био је господин Ненад Цвјетковић, секретар Црквено-школске општине, са својом породицом.

Верном народу беседио је отац Драган, честитајући храмовну славу и призивајући Божији благослов на све. Истакао је да је као суседни свештеник много пута био у прилици да види потенцијал парохије светог Ђорђа и изразио своју веру да је пред њом светла будућност на много година.

После заамвоне молитве учињена је литија око храма уз читање васкрсних Јеванђеља и узношење молитава за град, храм, епископа, верни народ, али и за мир света, погодну климу, опроштај свих наших грехова и упокојење храмовних ктитора и све браће и сестара.

На завршетку литије, пререзан и славски колач, у чему су учествовала и бројна деца. Четвртину славског колача и кумство за следећу годину примио је господин Слободан Дане Јовановић, благајник Црквено-школске општине.

У црквеној сали приређен је затим славски ручак за све присутне. Учитељице и деца из црквене школе припремили су пригодне рецитације, док су средња и велика група фолклорног друштва ”Ђурђевак” извели сплет народних игара.
