PASCHA CELEBRATIONS COVERED BY LOCAL NEWSPAPER
Diocesan Office - Pascha, referred to as the feast of Feasts in the Orthodox Church, was festively celebrated throughout our Eastern American Diocese.
His Grace Bishop of Eastern America Dr. Mitrophan officiated at the Resurrection Matins at St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church in Aliquippa while on Sunday morning His Grace, the bishop, officiated at the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Midland, PA.
The sisterhood at Monastery Marcha was very blessed this year to have the Serb Wings Choir from Steelton, PA visiting them. The choir sang at the Resurrection Matins, at the Divine Liturgy and the Vespers Sunday afternoon.
In the Boston church of St. Sava this was the most festive Pascha celebration to date. There were services everyday during Great and Holy Week. On Pascha some 600 parishioners attended the service at their 500 seat capacity church. 350 stayed for the luncheon following.
