STUDENT CHOIR IN CLEVELAND

Cleveland, OH – On Thursday, April 27, 2006 the St. Sava School of Theology Student Choir performed at St. Sava Cathedral in Parma. They performed sacred church music in the church which was followed by a dinner in the main hall sponsored by the Kolo Sisters.

V. Rev. Milos Vesin, the director of the choir and Professor of Serbian Chant, announced the program. There were sixteen students all together which were housed by the parishioners. Host clergy, Rev. Zivojin Jakovljevic announced the group and gave background information and introduced and welcomed special guest His Grace Bishop of Eastern America Dr. Mitrophan. Other clergy in attendance were Rev. Milan Zobenica, Protojerej-Stavrophor Vasiljie Sokolovic, V. Rev. Janko Rajlic, Rev. Dragomir Tuba and Fr. Peter Burlokov from St. Sergius Russian Church of Cleveland. Also attending were Mother Ana and Sister Barbara from Monastery Marcha.

The dinner was well attended with some 100 parishioners present at both the concert and dinner. The president of the Church-School congregation Dr. Branimir Simic Glavaski spoke as well as His Grace, the bishop. Over $7,000 was collected by the generous attendees of the dinner.

The following morning the group had coffee and refreshments at Fr. Zivojin’s house and spoke of their many experiences at Libertyville. The faithful of St. Sava in Parma are hopeful that this talented group of young seminarians, future priests.
