ORLANDO SERBS PREPARE FOR
BUILDING OF NEW CHURCH

Orlando, Florida - On Saturday, November 26, 2005 the St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church in Orlando, Florida organized a Benefactor’s Dinner to benefit the building of the new church in Orlando. The dinner was held at the Greek Orthodox Church of Orlando. After the dinner and a short welcome by the host priest Fr. Ljubisa Brnjos a slide show was presented to the attendees featuring Serbian churches and monasteries, together with traditional Serbian images from our heritage. Also, included in the slide show was the projected look of the future Serbian Orthodox Church in Orlando.

His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of Eastern America addressed all those in attendance and reminded them of the significance of building a church. The president of the church board also addressed the crowd and the fruits of their words were immediately seen as in a relatively short period of time over $30,000 was raised for the building of the new church which is adequate for the first phase in the building project.

The parishioners of St. Petka together with Fr. Ljubisa and his family are to credit for this success. We look forward to reading more of the progress of the new church in Orlando.
