ST. STEPHEN CHURCH CELEBRATES ST. SAVA
Lackawanna, NY - The parish of St. Stephen the Protomartyr in Lackawanna, New York, celebrated the Feast of St. Sava the Enlightener of the Serbian people on Sunday, January 22, 2006. As is the tradition in this parish their Church Slava, St. Stephen (January 9th), and the St. Sava Celebration were combined into one celebration.
His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of Eastern America officiated at the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, assisted by parish priest Protojerej-Stavrofor Rastko Trbuhovic. Also joining in the celebration was deacon of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, DC (OCA), Protodeacon Blagoje Siljegovic, a native of this parish.
