NEW TRANSLATION RELEASED

From the Diocesan Office – Recently the Serbian translation of the book The Romanian Patericon II by Hieromonk Joanikije Balan has been released from the printers. This translation to the Serbian language was completed by His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of Eastern America. In the first volume of this patericon, also translated by Bishop Mitrophan, the period from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century is covered, while this newly released second volume contains the venerable fathers from the second half of the nineteenth to the later half of the twentieth century.

This is the ninth translation of His Grace Bishop Mitrophan from the Romanian. In his desire that the reading public, more specifically the theological students of the Serbian Orthodox Church, become more aware of the lives and works of the Romanian Orthodox Church His Grace, the bishop, has already begun the translation of another volume by Fr. Dumitru Staniloe “The Evangelical Image of Jesus Christ”.

Besides his translations, His Grace has also published a number of works including, “The teaching of the holy Apostle Paul on the Church” (in Serbian and English); “The Mystery of Christ in the Epistles of the holy Apostle Paul to the Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians” and his newest work “Introduction to the Holy Bible - New Testament”. Additionally he has also published a large number of articles in various periodicals.

The above mentioned works, along with the translations can be purchased in our diocesan bookstore. The newly released second edition to the Romanian Patericon will be made available the beginning of December.
