PRESENTATION GIVEN BY DR. PREDRAG MATEJIC
AT ST. STEPHEN IN COLUMBUS
Columbus, OH – On Sunday April 9, 2006 Dr. Predrag Matejic, of the Hilandar Reseach Library at the Ohio State University in Columbus, gave a presentation to the parishioners of St. Stephen of Dechani Serbian Church after the Divine Liturgy.
In the presentation, titled “Serbian Kings and Princes: A Heritage of Sainthood”, Dr. Matejic spoke of the holy Nemanjic dynasty, of their endowments of the holy monasteries that they built and the catastrophic state they are in presently. He stressed the fact that those holy sites, the holy monasteries, suffered more destruction and turmoil during the so-called “peaceful mission” than throughout the centuries of their existence.
