Today, January 4, 2025, the Cathedral of St. George in Prizren was visited by a group of pilgrims from the “Metohija for Youth” program. While the faithful were venerating the icons, it was noticed that tears were flowing from the eye of Christ depicted on an icon painted after the miraculous Kazan Mother of God with Christ. The tears were clear, colorless, and odorless, resembling natural human tears. It was determined that this phenomenon was not caused by oil from the vigil lamp, as the lamp hangs below the image of Christ.

The gathered faithful began singing troparia, and the parish priest of Prizren, Father Jovan Radić, anointed the attendees with oil from the vigil lamp. The Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was then read, together with Father Vladan and Deacon Stefan, who serve at the Church of the Holy Virgin of Lyevish in Prizren. The event was reported to His Eminence, Metropolitan Teodosije of Raška and Prizren.

The tears from Christ’s eye flowed for about an hour. In these days leading up to Christmas, this evident sign from God is seen as a source of comfort and a reminder that Christ does not forget His faithful people in Kosovo and Metohija, and that the Most Holy Theotokos constantly intercedes for us. It is also a call for us to persist in our prayers for salvation and peace in Kosovo and Metohija and throughout the world.

Данас, 4. јануара 2025. године, призренски саборни храм Св. Ђорђа посетила је група поклоника „Метохија за младе“. Док су верници целивали иконе, примећено је да на икони која је сликана по узору на чудотворну икону Казањске Богородице са Христом, из очију Спаситеља теку сузе из ока. Сузе су биле безбојне и без мириса, као природне људске сузе, а искључено је да је реч о уљу из кандила јер је кандило ниже од лика Спаситеља.

Окупљени верници су почели да певају тропаре, а призренски парох јереј Јован Радић помазао је присутне уљем из кандила. После је прочитан Акатист Пресветој Богородици уз учешће јереја Владана и ђакона Стефана који служе при храму Богородице Љевишке у Призрену. О овом догађају обавештен је Митрополит рашко-призренски Теодосије.

Сузе из очију Спаситеља текле су око сат времена. У ове предбожићне дане овај очигледни знак Божији доживљавамо као утеху и подсетник да Христос не заборавља свој верни народ на Косову и Метохији, да се Пресвета Богомајка стално моли за нас, али као и позив да не престајемо са нашим молитвама за спасење и мир на Косову и Метохији и целом свету.
