On Sunday, June 19, 2022, His Grace Bishop Irinej visited Holy Ascension parish in Youngwood, PA to celebrate Divine Liturgy and to lead the festal celebration of Holy Ascension’s 110^th Patronal Feast – Krsna Slava.  His Grace was accompanied by the Rev. Deacon Darko Tripkovic of the Eastern American Diocese and Reader John Buffalini. Protopresbyter Rumen Stoychev of Holy Ascension concelebrated at the Divine Liturgy.

After the blessing by His Grace of the Festal Bread – slavski kolach and wheat – koljivo, 2022’s honored Kuma, Miss Kim Kabaci, handed the icon of the Holy Ascension to next year’s honored Kumovi, Mr. Darrel Hill and his grandson, Drew Hill, to be kept by them until next year’s Slava.

Following Divine Liturgy, His Grace and the congregation of Holy Ascension enjoyed a luncheon in the church Hall.  Bishop Irinej spoke about some of the wonderful accomplishments of smaller parishes such as Holy Ascension and how important it is to strive for continued spiritual growth.  A blessing by His Grace concluded the day’s celebration.
