HIS GRACE BISHOP IRINEJ VISITS HOLY TRINITY PARISH IN AUSTINTOWN, OH TO COMMEMORATE THE SECOND DAY OF PENTECOST

On the Second Day of Pentecost - 13th of June in the year 2022, His Grace, our Father and Bishop Irinej of Eastern America honored our parish by serving the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy commemorating the second day of Pentecost. His Grace was joined in concelebration by Very Reverend Presbyter Bosko Stojanović of Holy Trinity Church in Youngstown, Venerable Singelos Nektarje Tešanović of Saint George Church in Lorain, Deacon Milan Damljanović of Saint Sava Church in Cleveland and our parish priest Reverend Presbyter Bojan Banović. His Grace delivered a very profound message about living the Orthodox Christian life and called all of us to serve the One God in Trinity and allow the Holy Spirit to direct our lives. After service, Bishop Irinej further engaged and provided words of wisdom with our parishioners during a lovely coffee hour. We thank His Grace for commemorating the second day of Pentecost with us, and blessing our parish with his profound words and presence.

Following the visit by Bishop Irinej, Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church held its parish Slava on the 19th of June in the year 2022 commemorating its Feast Day - Duhovi; while the parish on Duhovi on June 12, 2022 had joined with its sister parish, Holy Trinity in Youngstown, and His Grace Bishop Irinej to celebrate and honor this holy day. Concelebrating at the Divine Liturgy were: Episcopal Dean, Very Reverend Presbyter Presbyter Dragan Goronjić, assisted by Subdeacon Michael Pancoe, both of Saint Demetrius Church in Akron, Very Reverend Presbyter Bosko Stojanović of Holy Trinity Church in Youngstown, Reverend Presbyter Miljan Aleskić, and our parish priest Reverend Presbyter Bojan Banović. Following the procession around the church and cutting of the Festal Bread - Slavski Kolac, Honored Host - Kum John Lyras welcomed all and thanked our Parish Board, Volunteers and the Circle of Serbian Sisters, in addition to all of our guests. Father Bojan then proceeded to thank everyone, all the honored and reverend priests who served with him and announced the Kumovi for next year will be Dr. Jasmina (Heather) Folkwein-Kennehan and her husband Dr. Eric Kennehan.

During the luncheon, our parish was blessed to have in attendance Very Reverend Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Father Rajko Kosić of Holy Resurrection in Steubenville, and Deacon Dan August of Saint Elijah in Aliquippa. We honored one high school graduate from our parish, Alex Garwacki, who will be attending The University of Miami in Ohio, and we celebrated the birthdays for two of our beloved sisters of our parish with a cake to commemorate the day. It was a truly blessed day, and our parish greatly thanks all faithful of our Orthodox family who attended from Akron, Youngstown and the surrounding areas to celebrate our Slava with us. May God bless them with many more years!
