HIS GRACE BISHOP IRINEJ EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES ON THE REPOSE OF METROPOLITAN HILARION

On May 20, 2022 – His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America sent a letter of condolence to the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia on the occasion of the repose of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion (Kapral) of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, on behalf of himself and all the clergy, monastics and faithful of the Eastern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

His Grace, who knew the late Metropolitan Hilarion for many years, both in the United States of America, and Australia and New Zealand, where they shared an Apostolic Ministry, wrote of his deep sadness on the passing of Metropolitan Hilarion, who fell asleep in the Lord after having served the Lord as a hierarch for 38 years.

Writing of the late Metropolitan, who was known for his exceptional kindness and good pastoral heart, Bishop concluded, “His Eminence’s vast and enduring ministry to the Orthodox Church, as well as his love for Orthodox Christian Unity will be felt for generations and continue to bear good fruit in the Vineyard of our Lord.”

May Metropolitan Hilarion’s memory be eternal!
