On Sunday, April 3, 2022, the clergy from the Pittsburgh Deanery gathered to celebrate Lenten Vesper Service at St. Nicholas in Monroeville. On the day when we commemorate St. John Climacus, who wrote at length about communal life, both clergy and the faithful enjoyed praying together in one Spirit. At the conclusion of vespers service, Presbyter Stefan Djoric gave a brief lecture on the “Ladder of the Divine Ascent”, the most important work by St. John Climacus. He pointed out that through remembering death and obedience to our spiritual father all of us come to receive blessings from God. After the lecture, the clergy and the faithful shared a meal together prepared by Sveta Petka Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. Nicholas Church.
