On Wednesday, February 23 at 8:00 PM EST, the Assembly of Bishops hosted a National Townhall for the youth via Zoom. Metropolitan Joseph (Antiochian), Metropolitan Gerasimos (GOA), Metropolitan Gregory (ACROD), Bishop Irinej (SOC), and Archbishop Michael (OCA) were joined by dozens of youth ages 8-18, as well as a handful of youth directors who served as moderators. After the Hierarchs introduced themselves with their names, where they serve, and fun facts about themselves, the sixty participants broke into smaller groups organized by age. The discussions revolved around the topic of, “Who do you say that I am?”(Matthew 16:15) following a question and answer format. The evening ended with a plenary, where the Hierarchs answered a few additional questions and concluded in prayer. The event proved to be fruitful, providing space for the Hierarchs to spend time with the young people in open and earnest dialogue.
