Over 100 Meals Delivered to Volunteers from Pittsburgh Area Food Banks

With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting the lives of many people across our country, we as Orthodox Christians are called upon to BE the Church and aid the community during these trying times.  The following is an example of Christian Stewardship that should not go unnoticed:

On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, members of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, PA were busy delivering 40 dinners to the Monroeville Convention Center’s Satellite Office and 80 dinners to the Duquesne Food Bank. The St. Sava Men’s Club purchased and donated the food, consisting of roasted pork, pierogis, coleslaw, and the Church’s very popular apple strudel!  In addition to the food, the St. Sava Church also made a monetary donation of $600 to the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.  A special thanks to the volunteers of St. Sava’s: Diane “Dee-Dee” Baskot, Protinica JoAnn Rocknage, Diane Stanesic, Donna Medich, Lex Medich, Luke Medich, and Rose Puglesee.  All sacrificed their time and safety to help the local communities of Pittsburgh!
