Orthodox Easter with the “Virtual Zabava“ Choir

San Francisco, CA:  Serbian Orthodox Singers across the continental United States, Canada, and Australia are celebratging the Holy Resurrection of Christ remotely with song!

Within the past three weeks, these 60 voices came together while sheltering in place. Love of their faith, family, culture, and traditions brought them together as one voice seeking laughter and friendship.

Sharing folk songs from the past and present in the comfort of their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic was their common language. Their social media group grew to over 4,000 members in just one week!

The Facebook Group called "Virtual Zabava" proudly launches their first Virtual Choir production of "Christ is Risen" to the Eastern Orthodox Community around the world. The vision for this profound choir was produced by two Serbian Orthodox individuals who met through this group 3 weeks ago: Nick Vezmar, from San Francisco, is the producer and George Milosh, a young tenor from Aliquippa, PA, is the conductor.

The Eastern Orthodox church is the second largest Christian Community in the world, after the Roman Catholic Church. Approximately 260 million people will celebrate Easter on Sunday, April 19, 2020. The universal greeting in all faiths is "Christ is Risen!"

To the world we sing Christ is Risen, Hristos Voskrese, Christos Anesti, Hristos A Iviati, Christon Voskres, Cristo e Risorto! - E veramente risorto, Harisutosu Fukkatsu! Jitsu Ni Fukkatsu, Christus resurrexit! Vere resurrexit!

Indeed, Christ is Risen!
