OF THE SERBIAN ORTHODOX DIOCESE OF EASTERN AMERICA

Very Reverend, Reverend and Venerable Fathers,

With the blessings of His Grace the Right Reverend Irinej, Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America, the Department of Christian Education is organizing a collection of winter clothes and monetary donations for the children of Kosovo and Metohija. We will be collecting donations at parishes throughout the Serbian Eastern American Diocese.

To aid our church-school congregations of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America in this effort, we are sending some useful information:

1. We advise young adults should take an active part in collecting the winter clothes. You may organize drop-offs each Sunday, after the Divine Liturgy. Please, for better organization, we suggest one person be appointed to oversee the collecting;
   
   
2. Winter clothes are intended for children ranging from babies to 18 year-olds, which includes kid and adult sizes;
   
   
3. Items should be new, or if second-hand, in very good condition;
   
   
4. We suggest you store the clothes throughout the collection in a safe place until pick-up is arranged. We will contact parishes to organize collections in January 2020, after Christmas; and
   
   
5. Monetary donations should be mailed to the Department of Christian Education at 65 Overlook Cir, New Rochelle, NY 10804. Please indicate that the donation is for the “Let’s warm their hearts” endeavor.

International Orthodox Christian Charities (https://iocc.org) will be delivering the winter clothes and monetary donations to children in Kosovo and Metohija.
