Свечаном свенародном литијом, која је на празник Светог Василија Острошког Чудотворца прошла кроз Никшић, торжествено је прослављен празник Светог Василија Острошког, Небеског заштитника тог града и његових житеља, чији велелепни храм слави храмовну славу.

Литија верног народа је, са почетком у 18 часова, кренула испред Саборног храма Светог Василија Острошког, предвођена архијерејима наше свете Цркве Православне, бројним свештенством, монаштвом и гостима празничног сабрања, прошла кроз центар града, заустављајући се на неколико места како би се читало свето Јеванђеље и узносиле молитве Христу Господу. Вјерни народ и уважене госте, на градском тргу поздравио је Епископ домаћин будимљанско-никшићки г. Јоаникије.

Свечана литија, у којој је пронијет јастук Светог Василија Острошког, реликвија  никшићког Саборног храма, вратила се потом у цркву Светог Василија Острошког. Овим сверадосним догађајем приведена је крају овогодишња духовно-културна манифестација „Дани Светог Василија Острошког“, коју, у спомен нашег великог светитеља, већ двадесет година, организују Епархија будимљанско-никшићка и Црквена општина Никшић.

Thousands of faithful participating in the procession in honor of St. Basil of Ostrog

By a festal procession, performed on the feast-day of St. Basil of Ostrog the Miracle-Worker, along the streets Niksic on the 12^th of May, 2019, this holy hierarch, celestial protector of that city and its inhabitants, was speciallycelebrated. The procession was organized because a magnificent church in this city is dedicated to him.

The procession of the faithful people, starting at 18:00 o’clock in front of the St. Basil Cathedral, led by hierarchs of our Holy Orthodox Church, with a participation of numerous clergy, monastics and a huge number of faithful passed through the city center, stopping in several places where portions of  the Gospel  were read and prayers offered to Christ the Lord. The faithful people and esteemed guests were greeted by the diocesan Bishop of Budimlje-Niksic Joanikije on the city square.

A ceremonial procession, while a pillow of Saint Basil of Ostrog, a relic of the Nikšić's Cathedral, was carried along the streets, came back to the Cathedral. This joyful event actually closed the annual spiritual and cultural manifestation "The Days of Saint Basil of Ostrog", which, in honor of our great saint, has been organized by the Diocese of Budimlje-Niksic and the Church Nikšić Municipality for twenty years now.
