St. Sava Youth Group Clothing and Food Drive
The children of St. Sava Sunday School in Broadview Heights, Ohio, in collaboration with the church's Youth Group, annually donate warm clothing and food supplies to St Herman’s Orthodox House of Hospitality (, an in-house shelter for men and food kitchen for the homeless. The children also purchased, prepared, and served meals on December 25th and 31st for the shelter to provide good, home cooked meals for their observances of Christmas and New Year’s. St. Herman’s House of Hospitality is operated by FOCUS North America (

This year, the children took their Drive an extra step further, also collecting baby supplies for Zoe for Life!, an Orthodox Crisis Pregnancy and Adoption Center (

The Drive is overseen by Fr Mijoljub Matic, parish priest, and Milos Markovic, church school principal, and implemented under the leadership of Angela Milojevic, Angela Majerle, Jasmina Petrovic and Danica Novakovic. Fr Dragan Goronjic, Dean of the Cleveland Deanery, offered the children and youths a prayer service in St. Herman’s Chapel, and a talk on Orthodox Christian philanthropy.

Both of these Orthodox Institutions are under the aegis of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of America Committee on Agencies and Endorsed Agencies (
