St. George Slava in Naples

On Saturday May 6th, 2017 over 100 individuals gathered to celebrate the Holy Great Martyr and Victory-Bearer St George, the Patron Saint’s Day – Slava of the the small, but growing, Serbian Orthodox Community in Naples, Florida. Fr. Ernest and Fr. Philemon Patitsas of St. Katherine’s Greek Orthodox Church cut the Festal Bread – Kolach and blessed the Wheat – Koljivo. This Mission Parish, originally started by the Very Rev. Hadzi Aleksandar Radenkovic, is presently being serviced by the Very Rev. Uros Ocokoljich, and under the leadership of Mrs. Branislava Cirakovic. The children’s folklore group is under the tutelage of Mrs. Gordana Lazich. His Grace Bishop Irinej has initiated the process by which they will be granted a charter and thereby, official Mission Parish status.
