Fairmont, WV - Each year His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN consistently brings joy, love and honor to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Mission in Fairmont,West Virigina at the time of the Mission Slava.
This year the celebration was on June 5, Friday of Pentecost week. His Grace came for the Vespers and Blessing of the Slava Kolach and Koljivo. Faithful parishioners and friends of the parish participated.
The Slava dinner and program was afterwards. His Grace spoke about the saints and their importance in our lives. His Grace mentioned Mission faithful having departed this life including most recently Trustee Maria Masha Djonovich.
Speakers at the dinner included Mission Trustee President Dr. Charles Paroda, Vice-President Michael Danko, Secretary Vesna Prodanovich Meinert and Treasurer -Sharren Paroda. Central Church Council Member Stan Brozik commented.
The Mission faithful and friends are grateful for the chapel space and adjoining dining area provided by the continuous love and generosity of Wayne and Joyce Kirby.
The Mission is blessed with faithful and dedicated parishioners, friends and supporters near and far. A evening service is held once each week followed by an adult education class. The Divine Liturgy is held twice monthly on Saturdays.
His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN accepted the Mission into the Eastern American Diocese on in April 2000. Services have been held at the Mission since early in 1999.
Friends and parishioners from St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania came for the Slava in support of the Mission and added to the joy of the celebration.
God has been good to the Mission and blessed the existence from the beginning. Thank God for the continued hard work and dedication of the officers, parishioners, friends and supporters of the Mission.
Thank God for the continuing leadership, support and interest of His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN. Thank God for His Grace having made an extraordinary effort to be in attendance and bless this Slava celebration.
