WEEK TWO OF ST. SAVA CAMP BRINGS ANOTHER JOYFUL WEEK TO SHADELAND
Week Two of St. Sava Camp began on July 19, and the excitement was evident from the moment campers began driving down the driveway. The anticipation of a new camp week could be felt throughout the entire campgrounds as campers arrived ready for another week of friendship, fellowship and fun.
Our tireless counselors, led by Nessa Wright and Luke Torbic, included Dara Barach, Sara Topich, Milana Winowich, Daniela Radulovich, Maria Janiga, Jelena Dragovich, Anastasija Vukalo and Stefan Zaric. Throughout the week, the counselors worked tirelessly to make camp a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for every child.
The week was filled with a wide variety of activities, including singing, arts and crafts, boating, sports and swimming. Each day brought new opportunities for campers to learn, play and enjoy time together in the beautiful surroundings of Shadeland.
Our Camp Director, Fr. Vedran Grabic, was joined by Fr. Dragan Zaric in leading the children in daily prayers and religious instruction. This year's discussions focused on Baptism, Creation and Technology. The children were engaged, inquisitive and eager to participate as they explored these important topics of faith and life.
Wednesday brought a special adventure as the campers enjoyed a hayride followed by a presentation on fire safety. The presentation was given by our caretaker and Chief of the Springboro Fire Department, Keith, who shared important information and practical lessons with the children.
His Grace Bishop Irinej visited the camp on Friday. During his visit, the campers and counselors celebrated the 20th Anniversary of His Grace's episcopal ordination. The counselors presented Bishop Irinej with cards made by the campers, flowers and gifts. It was a joyful occasion and a special opportunity for the camp community to honor His Grace.
From energetic activities to time spent relaxing with friends, Week Two was filled with the joy and excitement that make St. Sava Camp such a special experience. The sounds of laughter and singing once again filled the campgrounds as campers made memories that will last long after the week came to an end.
Saturday morning arrived all too soon. Campers and counselors said their goodbyes with hugs and promises to meet again soon. As another wonderful week at St. Sava Camp came to a close, everyone left with memories of a joyful week together and anticipation for the next time they would return to Shadeland.
