On Sunday, April 26, 2026, in a solemn and spiritually uplifting atmosphere, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church of St. John the Baptist, presided over by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Washington–New York and Eastern America, with the concelebration of the reverend clergy: the Very Reverend Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Aleksandar Vlajkovic, Dean of the Boston Deanery and Dean of the St. Sava Cathedral in Boston; Protopresbyter Savо Majstorovic, Parish Priest at the Annunciation Church in Idvor, Banat; and Presbyter-Economos Milosh Zdralic, Parish Priest of St. George Church in Clearwater; as well as Deacon Vladimir Srbljak of Paterson.
The liturgical gathering took place in prayerful unity, with the faithful participating devoutly in the holy service.
Later that afternoon, the Holy Mystery of Matrimony was celebrated in the same church for the newlyweds Joseph and Marta, daughter of Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Djokan and Presbytera Mirjana Majstorovic. In a spirit of reverence and spiritual joy, the couple received God’s blessing, pledging their love, faithfulness, and mutual respect before the Church and the assembled faithful.
This joyous occasion was further blessed by the fact that His Grace Bishop Irinej himself presided over the Sacrament. In his homily, he reminded the newly married couple that the crowns placed upon their heads are not merely symbols of temporary joy, but signs of eternal love—for marriage, when founded in Christ, attains its fullness in eternity. He further emphasized that married life is built upon love, sacrifice, and forgiveness—not only “seven times,” but “seventy times seven,” that is, without measure, in accordance with the boundless love of God.
The parents, family members, relatives, and friends offered heartfelt prayers that the Lord may strengthen the newlyweds in love and unity, granting them a long and blessed life together—filled with faith, hope, and love—and that in all things they may walk in the path of the Gospel, bearing witness to the truth of Christ.
A joyful wedding celebration followed, beautifully bringing this blessed day to a close.
