RECEPTION ON THE OCCASION OF THE STATEHOOD DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

On February 25, 2026, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the United Nations in New York hosted a reception marking the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia.

The event was attended by a large number of Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives to the United Nations, representatives of Member States, military attachés, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, headed by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Washington-New York and Eastern America, as well as distinguished members of the Serbian diaspora. The strong turnout and significant presence of guests reaffirmed the interest and friendly ties that Serbia cultivates within the multilateral environment.

The ceremony opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Serbia, performed by Mirijana Maksimović and Srđan Maksimović, PhD, Coordinator, Eastern American Diocesan Education Commission, both members of the Choir of the Cathedral Church of St. Sava in New York.

In the welcoming remarks, the importance of Statehood Day as a symbol of Serbia’s statehood, freedom and constitutional tradition was highlighted, along with our country’s firm commitment to multilateralism and cooperation within the United Nations. Guests were also presented with the upcoming International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 Belgrade and invited to participate and visit Serbia.

The reception was held in a warm atmosphere, in the spirit of fellowship and strengthening friendly ties, accompanied by traditional Serbian cuisine and wines.

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the United Nations remains committed to actively contributing to dialogue and the strengthening of partnerships within the international community.

Пријем Поводом Дана Државности Републике Србије

Стална мисија Републике Србије при Уједињеним нацијама у Њујорку организовала је 25. фебруара 2026. године пријем поводом обележавања Дана државности Републике Србије.

Пријему је присуствовао велики број амбасадора, сталних представника при УН, представника држава чланица, војних изасланика, представника Српске Православне Цркве на челу са Његовим Преосвештенством Епископом вашингтонско-њујоршким и источноамеричким г. Иринејем, као и угледних припадника српске дијаспоре. Одличан одзив и присуство великог броја гостију потврдили су снажно интересовање и пријатељске везе које Србија негује у мултилатералном окружењу.

Свечаност је отворена интонирањем химне Републике Србије, коју су извели Миријана Максимовић и др Срђан Максимовић, Kоординатор Комисије за Верску просвету Источноамеричке епархије, чланови хора Саборног храма Светог Саве у Њујорку.

У обраћању присутнима, истакнут је значај Дана државности као симбола државности, слободе и уставности Србије, као и снажна посвећеност наше земље мултилатерализму и сарадњи у оквиру Уједињених нација. Гостима је представљена и предстојећа међународна специјализована изложба EXPO 2027 Београд, уз позив свим државама и партнерима да узму учешће и посете Србију.

Пријем је протекао у топлој атмосфери, у духу дружења и јачања пријатељских веза, уз српска традиционална јела и вина.

Стална мисија Републике Србије при УН наставља да активно доприноси јачању партнерстава и дијалога у оквиру међународне заједнице.
