The Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia was celebrated at the residence of the Serbian ambassador in Washington, D.C., in the presence of numerous diplomats, ambassadors, members of the U.S. Congress, and representatives of the administration.

The formal reception brought together political and military officials, as well as representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, led by Bishop Irinej of Washington–New York and Eastern America, along with members of the Serbian diaspora, in an atmosphere that combined tradition, diplomacy, and the modern relations between the two countries.

As participants noted, the event once again confirmed the importance of political dialogue and continuous contacts between Belgrade and Washington, as well as the increasingly strong cooperation in the fields of security and the economy.

Serbia’s Ambassador to the United States, Dragan Šutanovac, emphasized that Sretenje represents an important symbol of statehood and an opportunity to further strengthen relations with international partners.

Mr. Šutanovac stated that Serbia is on the right path toward renewing friendship and that this year could be a year of positive change in relations between the two countries.

He stressed that diplomatic relations between Serbia and the United States are developing through stable political dialogue and cooperation across multiple areas, assessing that celebrating the national holiday in Washington holds special significance for strengthening bilateral ties.

Strong historical ties between Serbia and the United States were also highlighted by U.S. Congressman Pat Harrigan of North Carolina, who noted that today the two countries have significant room to further enhance their partnership.

Mr. Harrigan said there are “many opportunities for both countries,” emphasizing that Serbia and the United States can achieve mutual benefits by strengthening cooperation in the fields of the new economy, high technology, artificial intelligence, and manufacturing. As he underlined, it is important to understand shared interests, particularly regarding regional stability, adding that deepening the partnership brings benefits to both Serbia and the United States of America.

The importance of bilateral relations was further underscored by the presence of senior representatives of the U.S. administration, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel J. Lawton.

Дан Државности Србије свечано прослављен у Вашингтону: Поруке партнерства са САД

Дан државности Републике Србије прослављен је у резиденцији амбасадора Србије у Вашингтону, уз присуство бројних дипломата, амбасадора, чланова америчког Конгреса и представника администрације.

Свечани пријем окупио је политичке и војне званичнике, као и представнике Српске Православне Цркве, на челу са епископом вашингтонско-њујоршким и источноамеричким г. Иринејем, и српске дијаспоре, у атмосфери која је спојила традицију, дипломатију и савремене односе две земље.

Догађај је, како су оценили учесници, још једном потврдио важност политичког дијалога и континуираних контаката између Београда и Вашингтона, али и све израженију сарадњу у области безбедности и економије.

Амбасадор Србије у Сједињеним Државама г. Драган Шутановац истакао је да Сретење представља важан симбол државности и прилику за даље јачање односа са међународним партнерима.

Г. Шутановац наводи да је Србија на добром путу ка обнављању пријатељства и да ова година може бити година позитивних промена у односима две земље.

Он је нагласио да се дипломатски односи између Србије и САД развијају кроз стабилан политички дијалог и сарадњу у више области, оцењујући да прослава националног празника у Вашингтону има посебан значај за јачање билатералних односа.

На снажне историјске везе између Србије и Сједињених Држава подсетио је и амерички конгресмен Пет Хариген из Северне Каролине, који је оценио да две земље данас имају значајан простор за даље унапређење партнерства.

Г. Хариген је рекао да постоји „много могућности за обе земље“, истичући да Србија и САД могу постићи обострану корист јачањем сарадње у областима нове економије, високих технологија, вештачке интелигенције и производње.
Како је нагласио, важно је разумети заједничке интересе, посебно када је у питању регионална стабилност, додајући да продубљивање партнерства доноси користи и Србији и Сједињеним Америчким Државама.

Значај билатералних односа потврђује и присуство високих представника америчке администрације, укључујући заменика помоћника државног секретара за европска и евроазијска питања г. Данијела Џ. Лотона.
