Moses the Black is a modern reimagining set in contemporary Chicago, inspired by the life and spiritual legacy of our beloved saint St. Moses the Black, one of the great Desert Fathers of the early Church, who lived a life of violence and, in a moment of clarity, chose a new path—becoming a lasting example of repentance and transformation.
This is a film about hope, second chances, and redemption. It shows that even in the most difficult circumstances, through true repentance, anyone can find purpose and new life while living in the light of Christ.
About the Rating
The film is rated R for violence and language (but also for Real Repentance). It presents harsh truth—not to glorify violence, but to reflect reality in service of an authentic story of transformation.

At its core, this is a story that reflects a central truth of our faith: repentance is real, transformation is possible, and no life is meaningless in the eyes of God.
