The Federation of Circles of Serbian Sisters (FCSS) of the Eastern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church gathered on August 28, 2025, to celebrate their Patronal Feast - Slava, the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos. This year’s celebration was hosted by the Saint Petka Circle of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Parma, Ohio.
The Divine Liturgy was prayerfully celebrated by FCSS Spiritual Advisor and Dean of the Pittsburgh Deanery, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Stevan Rocknage; Episcopal Deputy, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Rade Merick; Deacon of the Cleveland Deanery, Protopresbyter Milan Pajic; Host Priest, V. Rev. Protopresbyter Dragoslav Kosic; together with Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Dr. Rodney Torbic; Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Rajko Kosic; Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Dragan Zaric; Protopresbyter Rumen Stoychev; Presbyter Dragan Vukovic; Presbyter Mark Resanovich; and Presbyter George Popovich. Assisting were Deacon Mark Matijevich and Deacon Mark Vukelich.
Following the blessing of the Festal Bread - Kolach, Kristina Marinkovich of the Johnstown Kolo accepted a portion of the slava bread and joyfully agreed to host next year’s slava.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Fr. Stevo Rocknage introduced Protopresbyter Dragan Goronjic, offering warm wishes as he begins his service in the New Gračanica-Midwestern American Diocese. Fr. Milan Pajic, newly appointed Dean of the Cleveland Deanery, also expressed gratitude for Fr. Dragan’s many years of dedicated work and extended him heartfelt wishes.
After Liturgy, more than 100 guests gathered in the church hall for a delicious luncheon and fellowship. The Honored Sponsor - Kuma for the day was Smilja Radivoj, a beloved member and recording secretary of Saint Petka Circle, who has faithfully served for more than 40 years. Živela, Smilja!
All donations collected from the day were designated to benefit St. Sava Camp Shadeland.
