Important Winter Camp Information:

Registration begins on Wednesday at 4:00pm and pick up will be Saturday at 11:00 am.
Please remember that this is during the Nativity Fast Season. All food and snacks provided will be lenten; all snacks brought to camp should also be lenten.

Please consult this Diocese Website before you leave for Winter Camp,
should there be extreme inclement weather or other announcements.

3:30 -5:00 PM—Letter writing, Play practice.
5:30—Vespers

6:30-7:30—Singing-(half hour each group-two groups)

*The schedule may be adjusted for the anticipated visit of His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN

**Eight priests will participate as speakers for the daily lectures. Two groups will meet at 10:00 AM and two groups at 11:00 AM.

WHAT TO PACK FOR THIS RETREAT:

Bedding: sleeping bag, two sheets, 2-3 blankets, pillow, and pillowcase

Towels: 3 Towels, 3 washcloths

Toiletries: comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant

Clothing: sturdy jeans, sweatshirts, daily change of underwear, socks, other clothes (shorts, t-shirts, etc.) pajamas. Check the forecast for the Springboro area before you leave for camp. It may be cold, snowy or rainy. Pack accordingly.

For boys: one pair of pants and suitable shirt for church services (jeans t-shirts, and tennis shoes are not acceptable!)

For girls: skirt and blouse, or dress (dresses and blouses should have sleeves; skirts and dresses should be knee length. Nothing short)

**Please do not send valuables --jewelry, etc.-- with your child. We will not be responsible for their security.

Be assured that your child will be given plenty of snacks, so please limit the number of snacks your child brings (no beverages). Campers will be permitted to eat snacks only during free time in the afternoon and evening. This retreat is being held during the Nativity fast. All food served by the camp will be lenten; all outside snacks are to be lenten as well.

Visitors: Parents are welcome to visit camp and observe your child’s activities. All visitors must sign in at the office and be issued a visitor’s badge.

Facebook & Social Media Policy: Shadeland Camp strictly prohibits before, during and after camp: ANY SOCIAL MEDIA POSTINGS AND/OR PICTURES REFERENCING HARM AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE PROPERTY, PROGRAM, OR PARTICIPANTS OF SHADELAND. IF SUCH ACTIVITY IS FOUND DURING CAMP, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, ILLEGAL DRUGS,TOBACCO (SMOKING, CHEWING, ETC) FIREWORKS, OR WEAPONS OF ANY KIND OR ANY VIOLATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL FROM CAMP.
