OCF Retreat Waynesburg University

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship at Waynesburg University, Greene County, Pennsylvania held a well-attended retreat on Saturday September 23, 2017. The featured speaker was Reverend Deacon Seraphim Moslener.

Father Deacon Seraphim serves at St. John the Evangelist Antiochian Orthodox Church in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He was on the faculty of Geneva College in Beaver Falls and holds a Doctorate and two Master’s degrees.

Deacon Seraphim is a director of FOCUS, an Orthodox ministry to the poor and needy. He was licensed for many years in Marriage and Family Therapy. Deacon Seraphim utilized examples from his experiences during the retreat.

The theme of the retreat was “An Antidote to What Ails Us: A Student Retreat to Help You Serve Better:” Father Deacon Seraphim focused on the necessity of humility in Christian life.

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship at Waynesburg University is blessed with active faculty members John Thompson(OCF Coordinator/Advisor), Dr.Ezekiel Olagoke, Dr. Richard Romanos Pierce and Linda Chamber, JD. Anthony Corkos is the OCF Chapter President. University President Douglas G. Lee, Vice-President and Chaplain James Tinnemeyer and Assistant Chaplain Josh Sumpter have been supportive of the OCF Chapter.

Aaron Carson, a member of the Executive Board of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania came for the retreat. The St. George Church is the only Orthodox Church in Greene County.
