His Grace Bishop Irinej visits Paterson

On August 13th 2017, His Grace Bishop Irinej served Divine Liturgy in the Paterson parish. Local priest Fr. Djokan, together with Deacon Dr. Jovan Anicic, concelebrated with their diocesan hierarch. The church choir, along with many of the faithful, responded to the litanies. After the reading of the Holy Gospel, Bishop Irinej gave a moving homily about faith and trust in God.

Following the service, a luncheon was served in the church hall. After the lunch Bishop visited the Serbian Land in Hope Township. He was impressed to see the magnitude of property that belongs to Serbs. Board members, the Cemetery committee and proud Paterson parishioners gave him a tour and showed him the place for the cemetery, the sports stadiums, the lake, and other buildings.

At the end of the visit, the Bishop complimented the pioneers who stared the project and purchased the land, as well as everyone who has continued to take good care of the land over the years. Bishop noted that Serbian land is big property and holds a lot of potential. In the future the Bishop plans to hold some Diocesan activities on the Serbian Land.
