St Sava in Carmichaels

The St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania celebrates St. Sava every year with the Divine Liturgy, Slava Kolach and Koljivo, dinner and program. This year the Akathist to St.Sava was held in the church on January 27 in conjunction with Adult Class. On January 27 the Divine Liturgy was celebrated.

The main celebration was on Sunday, January 29 with the Divine Liturgy, Blessing of the Kolach and Koljivo. Living and departed church school students and teachers were remembered. The St. George Kolo prepared the dinner following the Divine Liturgy.
The program in the church hall included talks by Church Board members and readings by parishioners from the writings of St. Nikolai of Serbia and Proto Stavrophor Dr. Mateja Matejich. Church school student and altar server Elijah Romanchak was the Kum for the celebration.
