Carmichaels, PA - Since 1999 parishioners from St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania have traveled to the nearby Monongahela River during the time of Theophany for the annual river blessing. A short service is held at the riverside. The St.George Choir sings responses. An ice cross crafted by Sonia Janson is placed in the river. All present venerate the icon of Theophany and are blessed with holy water. This year the blessing was on January 22, 2017.
